A collaborative AWHONN chapter meeting of the LA Valley chapter and Santa Barbara/ Ventura Counties chapter. This meeting will examine the Maternal Mortality Crisis and feature a focused discussion on the recent documentary film, Aftershock.
The 2022 documentary film, Aftershock, is raising public awareness about the disproportionate rate of
black women dying in childbirth in the United States. This honest and harrowing film follows two
families and the ripple effects of maternal death through their respective families and the black
community at large. AWHONN is committed to addressing the current Maternal Mortality Crisis and
reducing healthcare disparities. This meeting is an opportunity to examine the latest maternal morbidity
and mortality statistics, and will feature a focused discussion on the film, Aftershock. We welcome
members from any AWHONN chapter, as well as nonmembers. Meeting starts at 7:30 PM Pacific
time. Please bring an open mind and a desire for honest, meaningful conversation.
Join our local AWHONN San Joaquin Valley Chapter for this in-person or virtual event at St. Joseph Medical Center in Stockton, CA.

An automated early warning system for mom + baby, that provides timely notifications of potentially worsening conditions so you can intervene as appropriate and potentially avoid a delay in care. Vigilance uses Artificial Intelligence based methods to continuously analyze fetal heart rate patterns (NICHD validated) and labor progression. It works with the EFM systems you already have in place.
